One of the foundations of Jonker Nissan and the Jonker family is our commitment to give back to the community. We’ve been part of the community, contributing to the economy and providing corporate leadership. Over the years we’ve supported the Langley Child Development Centre, Shut Out MS Society, Food Bank, Canadian Cancer Society, UBC, and PADS (Pacific Assistance Dogs Society). We also support our local schools’ work co-op programs and fundraisers on a requested basis from Jonker Nissan employees.
Our major initiative over the past 10 years has been our Dry Grad Program.
Dry Grad Car Program. Since 1998 we have supported three local high schools by donating a refurbished vehicle as the grand prize available only to students attending a Dry Grad celebration. The prize vehicle is provided as an incentive to encourage maximum participation and attendance at Dry Grads, and attendance at these events has gone up significantly as a result. Jonker Nissan employees and suppliers donate their time to restore the vehicles to near new condition. In 2008 Jonker Auto Group presented vehicles to 3 more winners, bringing the total number of Dry Grad cars presented to 30.
“We must encourage our young people to stay safe and act responsibly- especially at Graduation. I’m pleased to support this community project” -
Karel Jonker.
Langley Meals on Wheels Jonker Nissan, in partnership with the Nissan Canada Foundation supports Meals on Wheels by donating a Nissan Altima for their use in delivering hot meals to seniors and the disabled in our community. Our Service department contributes all regular maintenance of their new Altima. The Langley office of Meals on Wheels is on the second floor at Jonker Nissan, and we are happy to share office space with such a worthy organization.
We’re proud of our track record in the community and look forward to many more years of making a difference.
